The ASW Process has been eliminated by legislative action (Session Law 2017-57. Section 7.23E.(a)) beginning with the 2017-18 school year.

Teaching Context - Practice Schedule Validation - September 19-30

  • The purpose of the practice schedule validation is to ensure that teacher schedule information is correct in the ASW platform. If teachers find incorrect scheduling information, they will need to inform their school or district PowerSchool person to correct the schedule information in PowerSchool
  • Teachers should only complete the first step – they should not attempt to continue forward in the process.
  • The final deadline to make schedule changes in PowerSchool is 5:00 p.m. on September 30.

The following steps may be completed at any time between October 10-31, but objectives must be selected and approved no later than October 31, 2016.

Teaching Context - Teachers Validate Schedules

  • Teachers will enter the ASW Online Platform and complete the validation of their schedules.

  • Principals will approve teachers' validated schedules.

Class Selection - Online Platform Selects Classes - October

  • Teachers will access the ASW Online Platform to view the 5 classes selected (Teachers on Semester plans will see 3 classes)

  • A minimum of 6 students must be on the roster for a class in order for that class to be selected by the ASW Online Platform.

  • REMINDER: For teachers on Semester plans, if a Yearlong (2016-2017) class is selected for Semester 1, the evidence collected for that class must be uploaded in January. On Semester plans, Yearlong classes can only be selected in the first semester.

Objective Selection - Teachers Choose 5 Objectives or 1 per class selected

  • Teachers will choose 5 objectives using the Strands and Standards Guidance Chart.

  • Teachers on Semesterly ASW Plans will select 3 objectives for the fall semester.
  • Principals will review and approve the 5 objectives chosen.
