The ASW Process has been eliminated by legislative action (Session Law 2017-57. Section 7.23E.(a)) beginning with the 2017-18 school year.

The ASW Wikispace (including all materials and information contained within) exists for professional learning and public record-keeping purposes.

2016 - 2017 ASW Reviewer Application

The Analysis of Student Work (ASW) Reviewer Application is now available online.

ASW is the student growth measure of the North Carolina Educator Evaluation System for teachers in Advanced Placement, Arts Education, Healthful Living, International Baccalaureate, and World Languages. As a reviewer, you will evaluate student work samples submitted by teachers and assign an individual rating to each Timelapse Artifact plus an overall rating to the evidence collection.

In order to apply as a reviewer, you must be a fully licensed North Carolina educator with 5 or more years of experience in the content area(s) you wish to review.

If selected as a reviewer candidate, you must successfully complete virtual training provided by NCDPI and be available to review Evidence Collections virtually in summer 2017. Specifically, you must be available to review Evidence Collections during the months of June - August.

Depending on the volume of Evidence Collections, NCDPI cannot guarantee that every reviewer will be assigned Evidence Collections to review. Reviewers will be paid $25 per Evidence Collection completed.

The final deadline to submit an application was April 7, 2017. The Reviewer Application is closed for this year.

Questions should be directed to educatoreffectiveness@dpi.nc.gov.
